![]() I got an email from the Historian of Scrooby Manor in Nottinghamshire asking for help for plans to fund a visitor's center to improve the experience of tourists who want to get in touch with their Brewster and Bradford ancestors or just learn more about the Separatist movement of the early 1600s. After previous unsuccessful efforts a group called the Pilgrim Fathers' UK Origins Association has identified a 200-year-old barn near the Pilgrim Fathers Pub, right on the main road, as a good site. To gain approval from the local governing authority they need to show why a visitor's center is needed and how it would improve things. They are asking anyone who has travelled to Scrooby to send an email stating "why such a Heritage/Visitor Center is so desperately needed to honor and perpetuate the story of the Scrooby Separatists many of who went on to become Mayflower Pilgrims." They need these letters before the meeting sometime "next month" (December 2013.) If you have been to Scrooby, please write something and email it to: Sue Allen, admin@mayflowermaid.com. Thank you!
