The Case of the Missing Warren Lineage

2/26/2016

Maria Louisa (Sampson) Ricketson is well-documented as a descendant of Myles Standish, Henry Samson, John Alden, and the Mullins Family and has been proposed as a Warren descendant in 2 silver books. Her linking ancestress was replaced by Another Woman in a 3rd, though. Please check out Louisa and her hairdos in our Mystery/Fun Photos section and see if you can find the correct Hannah (Harlow) Samson for her. I thank you, Louisa thanks you, and her four Ricketson children, whose images will be posted right quick, thank you.

2 more changed to Mystery/Fun Photos Section

Samuel W. Frost and Nathan Augustus Gibbs have been removed from the Billington, Cooke, and Hopkins sections to this area because on updating the site I see that I had not made sufficient link to anyone, in the case of Nathan, and in Samuel's writeup had requested help but had not since found anything useful. He is in the same boat as Ruth Page Billington, as the history of Wayne, ME and the vital records I have found online are sufficient to establish a Mayflower Billington link. I am sure they are who they are, just need some more vital records or an obit or something with parents. (No family trees you found online.) Poor Mr. Gibbs is just floundering. Can you throw him a lifeline?

I also moved Otis Hayford, Jr. from the Billington section to the Mystery/Fun Photos section, and subtracted from the Billington total and the total on the home page. See what you can do with poor Otis, dead and gone.

new entry in the Mystery/Fun section: Ruth Page Billington

2/5/2016

As I move along updating entries, I have decided to move one person to the Mystery/Fun Photos section, especially since we recently removed William Soule, having found him a bevy of pilgrim ancestors. Ruth Page Billington is still a Billington in the Tallies section but since I have no idea of her actual line I thought it more fair, and possibly more likely to attract some help, if I put her into the Mystery area. I've changed the writeup slightly and given what clues I know. If you know her line for sure, please contact me or respond to this post. Thanks!

 no longer an amazon affiliate

I got an email from amazon in which they referred to me as a "former affiliate" - which was news to me. Probably the fact that zero buyers purchased anything through my web site in 3 1/2 years had something to do with that. I have removed their ads, also their name from the Links page. If you wish to support some other site devoted to Mayflower history their amazon Smile program theoretically channels money to several related sites. A quick search turned up the Plimoth Plantation, the Jenney House Museum in Plymouth, the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, Plymouth Guild, Inc,, Plymouth Antiquarian Society, at least one state society, and probably more. I am only personally familiar with a couple but am sure any and all would appreciate your support.
