If, like me, you do not attend because these things are never anywhere you would want to go or can justify spending money to go, this is your big chance. This year the Soule Kindred in America (SKA) reunion, like that of several other lineage groups dedicated to one particular pilgrim (or family, e.g. the Winslow Heritage Society), is being held at Plymouth, MA the same week as the GSMD triennial, aka the 41st General Congress. Registration has been open for a while but there is still room to come show your support, meet your Soule cousins, HEAR ABOUT THE NEW FINDINGS IN ENGLAND ABOUT SOULE ANCESTRY, take part in a couple of Soule-specific tours, quaff a few at a SKA reception, and honor George Soule AND Mary (Beckett) Soule with the dedication of a plaqu. Remember, the GSMD honors those on the Mayflower, not necessarily the folks they later married, but family societies honor both. Click here to get to the registration page, then scroll down to choose either the download-and-mail option or the pay online option. (If online, ignore the part about Canada and the "Free - $95" confusion.) I don't know when registration closes but with the GSMD it is August 12th. I am going and bringing a descendant, too. See you there.
